Ok....this place is amazing....much smaller than Prague....winding streets....cafes....a river.....sigh. This is our second day here in Cesky Krumlov and I will be very sad to leave tomorrow! We arrived here by bus from Prague...it took about 3 hours. We walked to our apartment from the bus station. We are staying right off of the town square in a great place recommended by Rick Steves....gotta love Rick! We have just been wandering around for the past two days...drinking cappucinos, window shopping (Lynnette and myself!) and hacking (Rav and Kyle!) Today we walked up to the castle (which is not open on the inside) but provided us with some amazing views over the town. There was also a bear pit complete with a family of European brown bears (poor things). The town has one remaining brewery (there used to be 5!), which we toured this morning. We were all amazed at the condition of the place (think communist era) and that we were allowed to go right up to all of the equipment and peer in...food safe...not so much! I think back to my tour of the Guinness Brewery in Dublin which would be at the polar opposite of this place! We then tasted some of the beer...of course! In my opinion.....yick.....but Rav thought it was great! Lynnette and I have just finished a little more window shopping and a latte at a quiet little cafe near the river. Tonight we are going for dinner at a tavern across from our apartment....I think I might have to finally try the roast knee....I will keep you posted if I do! Hope all is well with everyone! Love A and R
